We've had such fun this year.  The summer was a blast.  This was one of the first years that I haven't taught summer school.  We even went to Florida!  Jacob started a new school at Little Angel's Day Care.  Riley also started a new school at Brookside as a second grader.

Pancake Sandwich

This morning Jacob tried to creep quietly down the stairs to scare me.  He gets so tickled thinking he's frightened someone.  For breakfast, he's in to a new 'trend.'  He's always been in to pancakes; however, now he's in to pancake sandwiches.  This was new to me... so I decided it best if he helped make this breakfast creation.  Actually, to my surprise, it's quite simple.

Jacob's Recipe for a Pancake Sandwich: two pancakes and syrup. Process:  place one pancake flat on a plate and smother it with syrup... quickly toss the other one on top and smash it onto the flat one.  eat and enjoy!

Travis' Graduation Party...

I can't believe that little Travis is graduating!  

Travis was about Riley's age when Jason and I met... oh my - how time slips by so quickly.  While there, we were also introduced to baby Liam; what a handsome little guy!  

...yes, there was cake at the party!

A few of the family members brought Riley and Jacob their birthday gifts. 

Riley wouldn't take her new hat off all day.  Jacob loved his new Cars set.  Overall, everyone had a wonderful time... and I'm looking forward to getting Shannon started with a coupon blog!

Oh, and I forgot to mention; on the way home, the weather was bad.  Jacob kept asking if a "tormado" was coming.  How cute!

Our Sunburnt Friday...

Yes, we're burned... but we had so much fun!

So, at some point this afternoon, I thought it would be a great idea to spend the day outside... without sunscreen apparently.  Yikes!  We started by cleaning the pool, re-filling it with air, and finally filling it with fresh water.  Many hours later, we went inside.

Things got a little crazy!

Umbrellas ended up in the pool, dogs remained outside all day, and Riley had this fascination with pretending to pass out in the water... then, requesting that I post it on YouTube.  Silly girl.

Look!  No more weeds...

After the tornado last year, we didn't really maintain our landscaping.  It was getting pretty bad, so we finally had our landscapers come out and give our yard a facelift.  Yippee!  They're giving us a quote for the backyard, too.  I'm ready for some privacy for our patio area. 

Sydney has a new hot spot!

She loves laying under the Weeping Willow tree in the back yard.  Interesting that today was the first day she started this new liking.  Riley and Jacob love hiding under the tree, too.  They pretend as if it's their 'shelter from the storm.'  So very creative and cute!

With Jacob's sunburn (his first - bad mom!), he keeps saying, "Don't touch me - I'm hot!"

We had a Smurf-irific day! by Riley...

We went to Mrs.Sara's house.  We had fun.  Then we went to the theater to watch the Smurf-irific Smurfs with Mrs.Plum and Owen.  We had fun.  Then we went home.
